Michelle Brown is a post-doctoral scholar in the Talking Science research lab at Florida International University. Michelle comes to this work as a former middle school and high school science teacher and STEM instructional coach. Her doctoral research centered how white, English-dominant teachers and researchers move toward asset perspectives as they work with Latine students and families, particularly through disrupting norms of schooling and science sensemaking. Michelle also brings Professional Learning expertise to the team after spending time developing and implementing virtual and in-person workshops around equitable science sensemaking practices and educational equity through the Science 20/20 Project and NAPE – the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity. Michelle lives in State College, Pennsylvania with her husband and two children.
