ABOUT TALKING SCIENCE IN THE KITCHEN

Talking Science in the Kitchen is a multi-pronged effort to inspire children from Latine families to see themselves as STEM people and future STEM professionals through the medium of cooking. This endeavor builds on families’ existing co-cooking habits and cultural experiences to create moments of discovery that build important skills and STEM related interests. By establishing partnerships with community organizations, culinary experts, business owners, and investors, we seek to bring Cook With Me!/Cocina Conmigo! kits to homes around the country.

PROJECT GOALS

We aim to cultivate a diverse group of STEM professionals who can formulate solutions to global challenges, support the social mobility of youth from marginalized groups, and more importantly, to allow all children the experience of enjoyment, discovery, and curiosity that are inextricable from STEM inquiry and fundamental to healthy development.
