Remy Dou leads the Talking Science Research & Development Group (Talking Science) at Florida International University in Miami, Fl—an R1, federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution. Remy’s research focuses on the socioemotional aspects of learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in informal environments (e.g., after school programs, home settings), focusing on factors related to children’s identification with these fields. This work includes the participation of families, teachers, and college students, many of whom identify as Hispanic/Latine and/or first- or second-generation emigrants.
